Feature Fridays: Treats and Treasures

Hello friend!

Welcome to FEATURE FRIDAYS where I feature the work of another artist, writer, blogger, whatever whose work I admire. Previous entries included fine art painter Sarah Cavanaugh, fashion and culture blogger Merritt Beck, and writer and musician Rob Priestley. Today’s entry is the great Sydney Hoffman, Toronto fashion and travel blogger for Treats and Treasures.

As mentioned in another blog post, in the background, while I work away on commissions and daily life, I’m also putting together some samples for a Lois Lane comic pitch. Besides Superman himself, Lois Lane is probably the character I’d most love to write and draw. And excellent fashion blogs by writers and models like Sydney are an invaluable tool to keep Lois Lane looking like a smart, fashionable and professional young woman. As I’d mentally file away her many great ensembles, I came to really like looking in on Sydney’s adventures, and it became a much visited bookmark. Then I learned her sister is a favourite presenter of mine for all sorts of fun nerdy stuff, and her fella is an analyst on Sportsnet, which I watch constantly (especially during baseball season) so the world got even smaller.

So if you’re looking for a glimpse into the life of a cool Toronto gal, be sure to check out Sydney’s Treats and Treasures. Updated often with great travel blogs, workout routines and diet stuff. How can you not like her, when she’s a Blue Jays fan?

And here’s a drawing I did of Sydney.
