Back To School

Hey everybody!  Hope you had a great Christmas and are enjoying the New Year.

A fun thing I was asked to do recently was to visit a local elementary school and talk about careers in art.  The staff and students at Confederation Park Community School were friendly and welcoming, and the presentation was a lot of fun.

Here are some photos that the school was nice enough to send me.

As it often does, the session devolved into me drawing things on the whiteboard by request, and there were some really bizarre combinations.

Check out the “banana pants” in the lower left quadrant.  A young Twilight fan requested I draw a vampire, and was likely disappointed by the classic, Monster Squad version she got.

I also got a request for a mutant bunny.  I think I played it pretty safe on that one.

Anyway, they were a really funny and sweet bunch of kids, and I was very grateful they had me in.  I’m doing another author visit at a school next week, so hopefully I’ll have some info about that visit in the next little while.  Thanks, Confederation Park Community School, I had a great time!

And, since no blog post called “Back to School” would be complete without it, here’s Rodney Dangerfield jumping off a diving board.

Thanks for reading, I love you.
