Hello friend!
I am thrilled to announce that I’ll be setting up shop at the Toronto Comic Arts Festival (TCAF) on May 11th and 12th! As many of you know, Toronto holds a special place in my heart—it’s not only my favourite city but the GTA is also where I honed my artistic skills at art college. Returning to Toronto feels like coming home, and I can’t wait to reconnect with old friends and immerse myself in the vibrant artistic—and culinary—community once again.
But that’s not all! TCAF will also mark the debut of my latest labor of (doomed) love, Does Your Mother Know?: A Comic Book Confessional.
I’ll do a formal post about it a little closer to May, but this comic has been a true passion project for me, and I’m beyond excited to share it with all of you at the festival.
For those of you who, like me, haven’t been to TCAF before, it’s an incredible celebration of comics, graphic novels, and the people who create them. Best of all, it’s completely free to attend! You can find us at the Toronto Reference Library from 9 AM to 5 PM on Saturday and 10 AM to 5 PM on Sunday. Trust me, you won’t want to miss it.
One of the things I’m most looking forward to at TCAF is reuniting with some of the amazing artists and writers I had the pleasure of meeting at Angoulême, France. It’s always inspiring to connect with fellow creators from around the world, and I’m grateful for the friendships and collaborations that have come out of these gatherings.
And now, because no blog post is complete without some artwork, here’s a little sketch of me at Nathan Phillips Square, eagerly reading a certain soon-to-be-released instant classic.
As if TCAF weren’t enough, I’ll also be catching a Jays game, attending a live show from my pals in the Found Footage Fest so it’s going to be a full, and wonderful weekend.
Please stay tuned for more updates as I announce additional tour dates with the new book soon. Thank you for reading, I love you!
