Hello friend!
This post is a double header, as I want to both recap my appearance at last year’s Central Canada Comic-Con (known as C4 to fans, and non-explosive-experts) and announce that I’ll be returning to Winnipeg’s C4 show this Halloween.
Yes, Winnipeg just added me to their guest list, alongside much, much bigger and better talents and heroes of mine, like the great Neal Adams, Mike Grell, and some big league media guests like James Marsters, Gates McFadden, and my personal Celebrity Apprentice hero, Gary Busey. The goofiness of that show aside, as a huge Buddy Holly fan, I do hope to have some time to meet Mr. Busey, as his performance in the Buddy Holly Story was truly worthy of the Academy Award nomination it earned.
So I’ll see you on October, Manitoba friends!
Back to last year’s wrap-up–I’d never done a show in Manitoba before last year, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. But any anxiety I’d had before the show disappeared quickly, as the people of Winnipeg were great. The hours were a lot longer than I’m used to, but I was buoyed by the friendly people, as well as my trusty helper Brendan. Brendan was super helpful, and helped me keep a positive outlook, even when I was having trouble with a pushy, noisy neighbour. In the end it was a great weekend.
So, thanks for the great company, Brendan, and also a huge thanks to my sister Sheryl and brother Zach for opening up their home to me, and for lending me wheels while in Winnipeg.
Here are some pictures from the Winnipeg show, and for more, please take a look at my facebook album from the event.
Thanks for reading, I love you!
